Fenwick® Elite Tech™ River Runner Spin is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Action - Sensitive Touch I am amazed at how sensitive and smooth the Fenwick Elite Tech River Runner Spinning rod is. I have owned Fenwick rods since I was a teenager (bought my first with a summer's worth of lawn mowing money) and I believe I have every other Fenwick current light action spinning model (except the travel). This is now certainly my favorite. I was able to feel the slightest bites and the rod bends beautifully. To tease my father and son (who had already grown tired of hearing about my new Fenwick), I played the Excalibur music on my phone when I first took the rod out of the car. It is truly a classy rod and worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ultra ligth spin I've ever used I have this UL spin for over 3 years. First model for 2 years and latest model for over a year. So far it is the best spinning rod for small wobblers (4-6cm) and metal spoons 1,5-3g. Most pleasant fishing is when using 2,5g metal spoon. Casting is amazing and rod is sensitive enough to feel all fish bites, even smallest touches to lure. Reel seating feels just right. Don't want to hold any other type of handle. My River runner 6'9" UL is in perfect balance with Abu Garcia ORRA SX10. Mostly used for trout fishing in small streams, but sometimes it gets some serious predators to handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensitive and yet Powerful For years I used fast action moderate powered rods to catch trout in swift rivers. With the river current and fighting large fish I figured it was best to go with a strong rod, that is until I gave the River Runner a try. I was initially concerned with how soft it is even for a fast action light powered rod but as they say the proof is in the pudding. Simply put I land and hook more trout then I ever did with any other rod. The two biggest difference I learned with this rod is that 1 - you must land a trout with greater finesse but you'll keep them on the line and losing a trout is now almost a thing of the past and 2 - with the right fishing line (I use 15 lb braided with a fluorocarbon leader) you can feel every stone, current, and bite in the river. This greater sensitivity and softer action gives me a good indication about whats going on in the water and a better chance at hooking and landing lunkers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great action good feel great light lure casting I bought this rod a year ago specifically for trout fishing. The action this rod gives your lure is awesome. The balance is perfect giving you a very sensitive rod. I have caught everything from small wild brook trout to a 5 lb small mouth. This rod handles these fish well. I would recommend this to anyone in the trout world or someone that wants to have fun playing out a large small mouth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best rods ive ever owned! I bought myself a 7'2 river runner a couple years back when I first got into trout fishing and jigging. Everyone around me had phenix rods which go for about $230 and when all my buddies tried my river runner they couldn't believe how much better action and backbone it had. And the grip handle it has is of the most confortable, and gives you the power to set the hook like you mean it.Needless to say i switched about 3, 4 buddies to Fenwick and my girlfriend as well..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from River Run Rods I've used these for a few weeks now. They are light weight and sensitive. They have a very good feel to them. We've been using them for American Shad and they are working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unbeatable action The 6'8" Elite Tech River Runner has been my go to rod for trout fishing for the last two years. You cannot beat the action or the price of this rod. It can handle small and large fish with ease. I have also caught bass, crappie and bluegill using this rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Trout Rod I purchased this rod to match with my Pflueger Purist 1325X spinning reel and the end result is perfect for my trout trips. This rod is light as a feather but has what it takes to land big trout. I'm also very pleased with the casting distance.
