Rated 5 out of 5 by Esquared from I love this fly rod! STOP!! IF YOU ARE NEW TO FLY FISHING - READ THIS REVIEW!! Don't go buy a beginner rod and reel package at the big box stores. Buy the Aetos and you will be a better caster from day 1! I have the Aetos in a 9ft 5wt fly rod. It casts very smoothly and compares very well to my more expensive rods. If I had noticed the Aetos sooner, I could have saved myself a lot of money. Before you go out and spend a lot of money on fly rods, you owe it to yourself to look at this rod seriously. I have an Orvis Helios 2 that cost 4X's the price and this Aetos is every bit as smooth. You can't go wrong with a Fenwick Aetos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tired Bear from Aetos Is My Homie I have an Aetos spinning rod and fell in love with its sensitivity. The Aetos fly rod is no different. I bought a 6wt that you can cast a #22 fly up to a #4 fly with ease and nymph rigs. So whether I'm going for indigenous brook trout or fat bass it can handle it. I'm sure even if I caught a 30lb+ fish I could handle it with this rod. Which could happen any time with the rivers and creeks I fish. This rod taught me how to handle fast taper casting better. You could spend a insane amount of money on bamboo or boron rods but this little gem will get the job done just as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pablomsla406 from Quick action, sensitive, and durable. This is a follow up review after two years of service. I got the Aetos the same time as I did another rod that was three times more expensive than the Aetos. The Aetos has performed brilliantly and as I write this the more expensive rod is back at manufacturer for warranty repairs. I will admit the other rod has great sensitivity and super quick action, but the Aetos doesn't lack in these qualities and has stood strong after dozens of trips and back country outings, and will take on large freshwater game fish like this Montana Brown. I would recommend the Aetos as a great addition to any anglers collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Thor from Super fast action I fly fish roughly 125 days a year, avid flyfisherman with a arsenal of different brands of rods. What I have found is that this is Ferrari fast when it comes to action. It fits perfectly to my rivers that I fish. I went with a 9fy 6 weight for Montana waters and it is a good choice. It's great for a heavy weight forward line to punch through wind. It does take a little to get used to with the fast action. Bull whipping isn't a shocker if you are new to fly fishing. This is defiantly my go to for 9ft 6wt in my arsenal. It is actually the only small river rod I use now, predominately switch and Spey when I can. But this handles big Browns and rainbows with ease with no problem on quick and fast long distance casts. If you are new to intermediate to fly fishing you may have some issues getting in tune with the rod at first. It is that stiff, making it difficult to tell if the rod is loaded on the double haul cast. This will iron out after a day of casting. Solid rod for the price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Opiew38 from Awesome action I purchased an Aetos 5 WT and the action and smooth casting of this rod blows the competition away. I have another 5 WT that is not a Fenwick and that has now became my back up rod. Also this Rod has lifetime warranty and I hope I don't have to use warranty but if I do I have been told Fenwicks warranty is great unlike other warranty's of other brands

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lewfish from Never had a rod that could handle it like this I've been fly fishing for the last 28 years and never had a fly rod that could handle the big fish like this rod. When that muskie takes its big run or that trophy Lake Trout dives deep I no longer have any fear of a broken rod! Super sensitivity with deep back bone!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pablomsla from Great value, great quality! My wife picked this up for me in a 9ft 5wt as a gift and it has been absolutely great. The action is amazing. I own Winston's and Orvis rods and this stands tall against them. I strongly endorse this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tom Kirk 46 from Great rod I have (and still use) an older FF 765 that I bought in 1973. I have now added a 4 piece AETOS 8 weight for bass (mostly smallies) and absolutely love the rod. Took a bit to find the rhythm as it has a lot of backbone. Would put it up against anyone's rod costing two to three times more.
