Fenwick/Abu Garcia Pro Takes Second at Champlain FLW Tour Stop

— Plattsburgh, NY - Fenwick/Abu Garcia pro Kevin Vida came up a pound and a half short on the final day of the last FLW Tour stop of the year on Lake Champlain. The winner was North Carolina pro Tracy Adams. It was Adams’ first FLW Tour victory.
Vida, a smallmouth expert from Michigan, came up one spot shy of his first tour win. It was his fourth FLW Tour Top 10. Vida used Abu Garcia Torno and Cardinal 500 series reels, Fenwick Techna AV rods, and Berkley Vanish line to land his best finish in 2006.
"I feel great," he said. "I absolutely don't think there's anything more I could have done. It's a very positive finish for me.”
“I really want to thank the folks at Fenwick for their great service before the event,” said Vida “My practice partner accidentally broke my two 7 foot medium-heavy Techna AV casting rods. When I realized that I had left my backup Fenwick’s back home in Michigan, I panicked. How could I go into the event without my favorite sticks?”
“Well, I picked up the phone and called Eric and Mindy and three new Techna AV’s were at my motel the next day. Awesome rod. Awesome service. Thanks!”
Vida won $36,000 for his two-day weight of 33-01 pounds.
