Fenwick Techna AV Helps Carries Stren Series Pro Glenn Browne to First Professional Win

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa (January 7, 2007) Berkley pro Glenn Browne of Ocala, Fla., notched his first professional victory with a four-day total of 60 pounds, 2 ounces in season-opening Stren Series Southeastern Division event on Lake Okeechobee.
Through the first three days of the event, Browne relied on a Berkley Frenzy FD7-S crankbait in the canals on the north end of the lake, targeting fish in and around submerged rock points and cuts. Browne fished the Frenzy on 12-pound Berkley Big Game line. His choice of rod and reel included a Fenwick Techna AV rod and the new Abu Garcia Revo STX reel. His strategy resulted in five-fish limits during all four days of competition.
“The fish in there move vertically up and down the canal bank,” said Browne, who pocketed $25,000 cash and a new Ranger 519VX with the win. “Some days they are suspended in the middle of the canal, some days they relate to the points and breaks on the canal edge and other days they pull right up on the bank and spawn around the reed patches.”
