Fenwick Eagle Travel Spinning is rated out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Captain Cast from Travels Well I was able to carry this, a backpack, and a carry onto four flights I had with Delta without any problems. It's small and convenient which means it travels well. I bought the 8'6" version and it is a good quality rod and for four pieces, stayed together nicely. My ONLY complaint is that the rating is not medium. It is Medium-Light and leaning more towards the light side. I was trying to cast a 1/4oz jig with a swim bait and could easily overload the rod. Good quality rod, travels well in the case, easily take on flights, but just wish the action was medium as stated on my 8'6" model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Welshman from Excellent travel rod Bought the 8'6" four piece to take to Costa Rica. Used it to fish in the jungle and in the surf on the Pacific. Catching Jack trevally in the surf, this rods performed flawlessly. Uses 3/4 oz spoons etc which matched well to the rod. Action is as stated. The rod is very well constructed and for the price point the quality will be very hard to beat. No problems taking this as a carry on. The only question I was asked by TSA was about the kind of fish I was hoping to catch! Back in the States now, I plan to use this for steelheading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HHPIN from Good all purpose light rod Bought the 6' 6" Light Eagle Travel rod as a companion to the HMG 7' 6" Light rod I bought earlier this year. Very different rods. Both are classed as "light" action but the HMG has much more backbone and leans towards a medium action in some ways. The Eagle is more of a classic light action. The Eagle is much lighter and easy to use all day and does have enough power to drive hooks in when using Texas rigs as long as the plastic is a little on the soft side. No problem with finesse worms and thin Gitzit tubes. Still like the HMG 7'6" a bit better but it is inconvenient to transport in a small car where the 3 piece Eagle packs easily. Overall, happy to have both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Emilec from Amazing for the price Bought the 7' 4 piece eagle about 6 weeks ago and I have to say I don't think I've ever fished anything better for trout. Sensitive enough to feel a fish breath on your bait but with enough backbone to subdue powerful fish in strong current.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jayson14897 from Sensitive and strong I purchased this rod for a trip to British Columbia. Very versatile. Was concerned that it would be stiff with all the joints but wasn't disappointed. Very sensitive, strong, and packs easily into a small durable case for travel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tunacud from Nice travel rod I bought the Fenwick eagle to take to the florida keys. I fished off of bridges and the shore and rod was solid. I didn't catch any giant fish but it handled some nice Jacks and a big barracuda.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zincman from 10out of10 I was sceptical at first, but wanted a compact rod for easy carry. Very impressed from cast 1. Great control and distance with a beautiful action. Get one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Andrew2018 from Nice light tackle rod that gives you a long reach High quality and awesome in its intended role, but as Harry Callaghan reminds us, "[You] have to know your limitations". I bought the 8'6" model and I often use it for trout, bass, panfish, etc. on lakes of all sizes. I also use it for light saltwater fishing on California beaches (surf perch, croakers, small flatfish) when I fly for business. It casts light sinkers and lures a good distance, and I love it for freshwater use, but it lacks the backbone as a surf rod. It was underpowered for heavier surf in Oregon. I prefer a 9' - 12' rod rated for 20-30 lbs for that role.
