Product Reviews

Fenwick® HMX® Casting is rated 4.6071 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rod for Great Price!!! Purchased the 7'6" HMX-C76H-F for flipping/pitching jigs and plastics. It is a phenomenal rod for these techniques. I have such good accuracy with this rod and it is light enough to allow me to fish these techniques all day without getting worn out. Paired it with a Quantum Kinetic 7.3:1 reel with 40lb braid and it rips bass out of the weeds without any issues. I also use it to throw weighted Berkley Grass Pigs and it throw these baits a mile. The only rod that is missing in this HMX line up is a 7' medium moderate crankbait rod. Besides that, I might have to replace all my rods with Fenwick HMX rods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad To The Bone First off, I've always settled for an average off the rack rod from wherever but after now having a Fenwick in my arsenal it's no doubt the quality is first rate. From the guides to the handle grips it is a beautifully made stick. I bought the 6'6" med. 2pc and matched it with a Mitchell 308pro reel, it seated perfectly. NICE...I'll be picking up another for crappie fishing soon. For the price and quality Fenwick can't be beat. Some fish are angry fish

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good heavy-duty crankbait rod I bought a 7'6" Fenwick HMX C76H-F for throwing large crankbaits to pike. (I bought this rod after my great experience with an HMX C70MH-MF -- see my earlier review of that rod.) I paired this rod to a tuned Abu Garcia 5500 C3 with 17 lb Trilene XL. The combination works great with baits in the 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounce range. This rod is so light I can use it all day without tiring my arm. The only thing I would change about this rod is that it is a bit fast for my liking. But I lean toward slower rods so other anglers might find it just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Trout Rod My fishing partner and I both use the HMX 5'6" ultralight to fish the blue ribbon trout rivers of Montana. We pair them with Plueger 6925X reels and Trilene XL 4lb test mono for drifting worm and tossing spinners. These rods are durable, have sensitive tips for that subtle bite and enough backbone to handle the large browns and rainbows that lurk in these rivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the HMX Bought my first Fenwick pole 2 weeks. Purchased HMX medium heavy, fast action in one piece 7 foot. I have been fishing for 45 years and have always wanted a Fenwick. Finally got it and I'm now a believer there is a difference in the fishing pole you use. Bought this to use shore casting for walleye at night. Using a variety of different cranks baits and you can feel the lure in the water. Huge difference from what I've been using. First night landed all 4 walleye that took the bait. Positive hook set, great feel and fight. First time I've been excited about fishing in a long time. Went out again the next night and caught 4 more. I'm using and older regal spinning reel and with this pole I cast it twice a far as with my old one. I just placed another order on the Fenwick site for a second HMX, this one is also a 7 footer 1 piece but medium with fast action for the wife. Next purchase is two new reels! Recommend the HMX all day ! You won't be disappointed If You never used a pole of this quality. I will be buying more HMX poles for my sons for Christmas this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I purchased my HMX recently and have loved it so far, the sensitivity in the rod makes it very easy to feel the fish and what's on the bottom. I made my purchase based on my last rod which was a Fenwick and it performed great but I accidentally rolled it up in my car window. The warranties Fenwick offers on their rods was also a big plus in my purchasing decision. My next rod purchase will definitely be a Fenwick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST ROD FOR THE MONEY I bought my first Fenwick over 30 years ago. I loved the feel of the Eagle so much that I have purchased 7 more Fenwicks over the years. I have the first Eagle I purchased and still use it all the time, I also have Elite Walleye Techs, HMGs, HMXs, and a Silverhawk. My favorite is the HMX, great feel for walleye fishing at an affordable price. Fenwick has always stood behind their guarantee.
