Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonny Bizzle from Best rods ever built I use this rod as my go to rod for massive niagara river steelhead /browns/lakers/salmon/smbass. I bought the 9' medium moderate casting and they are so light and sensitive you can fish it all day and has the backbone to land big king salmon.Fenwick makes the best rods period. no matter what you are stalking, Ive fished many rod brands over the years and nothing comes close to the performance for your hard earned money. Fenwick has a great history around niagara region canada, I will always have a Fenwick in my hand to the day i die. love you Fenwick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by welder85 from Perfect All Around Rod I have this rod in 7 foot medium heavy fast tip spooled with 14 lb braid. Ive had and fished a lot of poles in my life, and this one by far is the best I've used. Words cannot explain how great this thing feels. But if i had to try, it has a PERFECT balance of stiffness and sensitivity. Paired with braid line, I can feel absolutely everything thats going on with my bait. Ive never been able to control my lure as well as I can with this pole. And for how sensitive it is i can put a ton of power behind it setting the hook. Best $70 I've spent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ruiii from heavy duty rod I bought the Fenwick Eagle Salmon/Steelhead Spin MODEL#EA96M-MS-2 in May 2014 and cough a countless number of kings, stealheads, browns, lakers, bass, musky... couple days after after I bought it, I went over the rod with my car by accident but it only got couple scratches and a dent on the handle, I even bent the eyes of the rod couple time and put them back straight without braking them. I still heavily used it until 2 weeks ago, it broke 23" below the tip while fighting a king. I sadly can't find the receipt so I'm screwed... It was me only rod for 3 years and I go fishing very often mainly at the lower Niagara river (strong current). I really like this rod. I'll get same one ASAP!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Northwesternfisher from Nice rod, bad guides I bought this rod last spring, after a few pink and coho outings I found deep line grooves in most of the eyes. I like the rod itself, extremely disappointing to have such wear after one summer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DJ61 from Wrong rod. I ordered this rod and then contacted Pure Fishing customer service to ask them to ship this rod to me with handle style B. The rod was shipped with the Michigan style handle instead. I as always in a hurry went ahead and used the rod anyway. The lower half of the rod had no backbone, and the handle too short. I took another broken Fenwick rod and stripped it down to the bare blank with the lower piece of the handle still on it; shimmed it and epoxied it inside the lower half to extend it for more casting torque, and give it much more backbone and a faster action.

Rated 4 out of 5 by knuckelbuster from great back bone I bought this rod for catching Speckel Trout on Gulf Coast. This rod's backbone is strong enough for a great hook set and flexible enough for long casting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bloomy321 from Salmon slayer Needed a stronger float rod to handle the salmon run this fall. The 10.5 medium-heavy with the moderate/medium tip action was exactly what I was looking for. It has a great back bone to wrestle 20-30 lb giants and the medium tip is working much more efficiently than my other fast action tip rods. The hook sets are much more better. I’m running 40 pound braid without issue. Would absolutely recommend for this type of fishing.
